Resident Evil 8 Village is a first-person shooter that focuses on horror and exploration. While Resident Evil is known for bringing in new characters and locations, this is a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7 and stars the same character. This game has been praised for its graphics and unique locations.

Main Story

Resident Evil 8 is a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7. Unlike the previous installments that focused on zombies and genetic abominations, both of these games have different types of horrors. While the previous game had sentient mold, this one is more about werewolves and vampires. Those looking for iconic zombies might be disappointed, but in many ways this feels like an updated version of Resident Evil 4.

You play as Ethan. Things seemed peaceful after the events of Resident Evil 7, but now a new horror finds you and Ethan is called back into action.

First-Person Perspective

Almost every Resident Evil game is played in third person. You watch your character move around as you get through monsters and solve puzzles. Resident Evil 8 continues the tradition of the last game by putting you in a first-person perspective. This means you see through Ethan's eyes.

While this is new for the series, many games use this perspective and it is actually much easier to control your character. Many fans find this more immersive.

Weapons and Mechanics

Many people liked how Resident Evil 3 allowed you to use gunpowder to make ammo. This carried over to the last game and is continued here. You are able to craft some items and weapons to help you along your journeys. Not only does this ensure that you have enough ammo to make it through the monsters alive, but you can choose what type of ammo you want as some types are better against certain monsters.

You will find that many of the weapons from the previous game return here, and there are some new ones as well. While the variety of weapons isn't as huge as some other shooters, there is more than enough to fit any playstyle.

Beautiful Graphics

This is a cutting-edge game with beautiful graphics that will make you feel like you're really walking around a rustic village. All the textures here look real, from the wood and bricks to the metal of your gun. This also includes all the monsters. You'll feel like you're really fighting for your life as you fight and flee from everything trying to kill you.

Different Game Modes

There are many game modes to play from here. You can choose between different difficulties that will either increase or decrease the challenge as needed. There are also some game modes that change the mechanics somewhat. This will give you new things to do so that the game stays fresh and exciting.

Some modes are available as soon as you turn the game on, but some won't be available until you beat the game. The game lets you know this by telling you about any new modes that you unlocked.
